Intravenous Sedation (IV)
IV Sedation Dentist in Belpre, OH
Intravenous or IV Sedation provides the deepest level of relaxation. It is often the best choice for people with intense anxiety, phobia, or fear of the dentist. IV sedation allows you to “sleep” in total comfort through your dental procedure. Dr. Huffman and his team keep you comfortable during treatment and when you awake you get to enjoy your new smile and dental health with little to no recollection of the sights, sounds, and smells of treatment.
How does IV Sedation work?
You will be given IV sedation medication delivered through a very small needle placed in either the top of your hand or your inner elbow. This is a similar process to many other out-patient procedures you might experience. The medications work quickly because they enter the veins.
What if I’m afraid of needles?
You’re not alone and we understand. Before using IV sedation, we offer patients Nitrous Oxide to calm them or give them oral medications the night before to help reduce the fear of the prick. Use of these additional sedation options allows many patients to be unaware of the needle. Don’t let your fear keep you from getting the smile you’ve been dreaming of for years.
What are the benefits of sedation?
Patients enjoy relaxation and their anxiety alleviated. More treatment can be completed in one sitting. If an easily triggered gag reflex, difficulty in getting numb, or small opening to your mouth present barriers to your care, sedation can supply the comfort and relaxation to you that allows us to deliver our signature high-quality care.
You deserve a safe and wonderful dental experience.
At Belpre Dental Studio, we give you that. No matter your situation, we are 100% Judgement-free! You will never be judged or made to feel embarrassed.
